A Journey of Learning: My Experience Filming and Editing a Personal Visual Diary
Recently, I embarked on a personal project to challenge myself and learn more about shooting and editing video. I filmed a visual diary consisting of a series of clips of my every day life throughout the month of October.
The project was an exciting and challenging experience. I hadn’t shot and edited very much video prior to this project, so I knew that I would be facing a steep learning curve. However, I was determined to push myself out of my comfort zone and gain new skills.
Throughout the month, I filmed a wide variety of footage, from simple daily activities like working and cleaning, to more complex scenes like trick-or-treating and carving pumpkins. I quickly discovered that shooting video is a lot more complex than taking still photos, and I made a lot of mistakes along the way. But, I was excited to learn from these mistakes and improve my skills.
The editing process was also a challenge. I had to learn how to use new software and figure out how to put together all of the footage in a cohesive way. It was a lot of work, but I found the process to be incredibly rewarding.
In the end, I am happy with the final product and feel like I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience. I am excited to continue working on these skills and develop my abilities as a videographer.
This personal project has been a valuable learning experience, and I am looking forward to taking on more challenging projects in the future. I know that it will be a long journey and I will make mistakes along the way, but I am confident that by continuing to learn and grow, I will be able to create something truly special.
