Capturing the Closing Ceremony of the 2024 Sanford International

September 2024 brought another exciting chapter of the Sanford International Golf Tournament, and I had the privilege of photographing the closing ceremony. Held at the picturesque Minnehaha Country Club, the ceremony marked the culmination of a thrilling week of professional golf, with the top players from the PGA Tour Champions circuit vying for the title.

As a Sioux Falls event photographer, this moment was particularly special. The atmosphere was electric, with spectators gathered at the 18th green to witness the trophy presentation. The event was full of emotion, from the joy on the winner’s face to the sense of community pride among the attendees. Photographing these moments allowed me to capture the essence of Sanford International—an event that not only celebrates the sport but also brings the community together.

From a technical perspective, shooting outdoor events like this can be tricky with changing light conditions as the evening approached. My goal was to highlight the excitement of the trophy presentation and the sense of accomplishment among the players, while also showcasing the scenic beauty of the course that makes Sioux Falls such a great place for events.
